I am delighted to announce that Sophie Formby has joined my team at Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty. Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit with her and discuss her perspective on the real estate business and her move to our company.
Steve: Hi Sophie, great to have you with us. I am very excited about us both growing our business together. I have a couple of questions I’d like to ask you would that be ok…?
Sophie: Sure
Steve: So Sophie you have been in the real estate business for nearly 4 years now through really the toughest market ever, what to do you like most about real estate?
Sophie: I joined real estate during a time of short sales and REO’s I have never known a good market. I enjoy most meeting all sorts of different types of people. I like dealing with people. I like that every deal is different. Every client is different. I also enjoy a real challenge.
Steve: What attracted you to the business?
Sophie: Well, I have always worked all my life, and I took two years off to have children. After that two years, I started looking for something where I could work my own hours and have the flexibility to manage a young family. I wanted to be able to support myself so I wouldn’t have to ask my husband if I could have my hair done… ha ha! Actually, I want to be able to have my kids visit my family in the U.K. and real estate is a great way to earn the money to do that.
Steve: Have you worked any other markets other than the mountain communities?
Sophie: Yes, I started out in the desert, joined Coldwell Banker Palm Springs, did all of my training there which was excellent. From there I moved on to Windermere who at the time was pretty much taking over the desert at that time so I made the move. I do still maintain my relationships in the desert and will from time to time do business there, but my current focus is my business here on the mountain.
Steve: What are the reasons why you chose to join Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge?
Sophie: There were various reasons. First, I wanted to join Coldwell Banker because they are number one on the mountain, and they are big. Also, I interviewed with you and was very impressed with what you had to say from a Brokers point of view and where the market is going. I also and from the UK and don’t have much family here in the states. Coldwell Banker is like a large family and I was attracted to that. I know that I will be doing this for the next 20 years of my life, so why not be with the number 1 company.
Steve: How has the transition been?
Sophie: Moving is always difficult, but everything has been great. People have been really nice.
Steve: Sophie, it has been great getting to know you a little better, Thank you for spending the time with me today. I am excited about your joining our team and will gladly recommend you to both buyers and sellers as a top agent.
