Where Buyers Come From….
A national survey of homebuyers conducted by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) provides the following statistics. All are pretty darn close to the mountain sources with the exception of the signage figures.
Met a Realtor 51 out of 100
Found a home on the Internet: 19 out of 100
Found a home via a yard sign 12 out of 100
Found a home on a website 9 out of 100
My friends or neighbors told me about the house: 4 out of 100
Found a home in a homes magazine: 3 out of 100
Found a home in the newspaper: 2 out of 100
The statistics above are from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and they reflect the national picture. In looking at the figures 28 out of 100 buyers nationally find their homes through either the internet or websites. In our market we track these statistics and the internet plays a larger role due to the remoteness of buyers. In our market the combined internet figures represent in excess of 42 out of every 100 buyers.
All the more reason for real estate professionals to have a strong internet presence to insure maximum exposure for their sellers.
